Dear Dean Blake,
This is a request to have my appeal deadline of June 11th waived.
During the month of May I was confronted with the loss of my Uncle. This required me to drive to New Brunswick from Ontario on 2 separate occasions, both times with myself and my family emotionally distraught. During these 11 hour drives, we were fortunate enough to make it to NB the day before my uncle passed. I was then required to drive back home to Ottawa in order to maintain my seasonal maintenance contracts. Then after completion, I would turn around and drive back to NB to be with the rest of my family.
I contacted a guidance counsellor on June 13th, who informed me that I had missed the deadline for an appeal. Due to the loss of my uncle during this time, and my busy summer work schedule of running my landscaping service, in order to fund my education, I am requesting your leniency in waving the deadline for me to file my appeal. With the help of a counsellor I have created a plan in order for me to bring my degree to completion.
If my appeal is granted, I plan on taking the courses required to complete my degree from home (Ottawa) where I have a support system in place to help me reach my full academic potential and complete my goal of finishing my degree. I believe that by taking 3 courses per term online I will be able to manage my course load properly, and with the support I have in place at home complete my academic career.
