Petition Letter
Good afternoon,
My name is Tess Posine, and I would to late drop PSYC100 due to extenuating circumstances. Barbara Lotan, will be providing you with a letter in support of my application to late drop this course.
While I was home for reading week in February, 2019, I was raped by a stranger. I was on a series of medications to avoid HIVS, which made me very sick for the first month, and I was unable to study or participate in class. I was very hopeful that after the medications, I would be feeling better and be able to return to my studies. However, I has been very difficult - although I am receiving sexual assault therapy and I have a good support system...I still have very bad days, and episodes of flashbacks, etc.
I did not drop PSYC100 right away, as I was hopeful that I would be able to catch up on all my school work and still pass this course. However, that is just not possible now...I find it very difficult to read, focus and study.
As a result of these extenuating circumstances, I would like to late drop PSYC100.
