Petition Letter

Subject: Appeal Requesting to Waive Deadline
I am writing this letter to request the 21- day deadline for academic appeal to be waived.
I understand this was an adequate period to make a decision for myself and to make an academic appeal. However, my extenuating circumstances prevented me to do so. I have been experiencing a family emergency since the month of February and although this is an ongoing situation, it has been a critical situation over the past few months.
My family emergency was so crucial that I was up nights handling the situation and had to fly back to India within a week of my exams ending. My anxiety disorder even came in the way and I was unable to take care of any task other than attending to said family emergency.
I have been with my family since the first week of May and a family member of mine has been extremely ill and is in a delicate condition. I was needed to take care of her and help my family, which has consumed most of my time and energy.
The reason I am being able to write this letter now is that the situation is finally under control, and I can get back to my responsibilities and my health. If required I can provide tangible proof and explanations of the events.
I would appreciate it if the deadline could be waived and I was allowed to make an academic appeal with regards to my academic standing.
Sincerely,
Abha Shah.
