Academic Plan
I do not write this appeal because of any particular extenuating circumstance, or due to any requirement for personal adjustments; it is simply that the courses offered by Athabasca University are available in the Fall and I am eager to carry on with the momentum I have built as an undergraduate student. I have consistently demonstrated an aptitude for learning, be it at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Manhattan or through my post-secondary studies at Queen's. I am confident that my strategy for studying and executing first-class projects and essays will carry me through the rest of my tenure as an undergraduate student.
With that said, my academic plan is as follows: I am currently residing in downtown Toronto, just steps from a host of public libraries and the U of T campus, where I spend many of my days in intense, introspective study. Living as I do in one of Toronto's richest cultural neighbourhoods, I consider it a part of my education as an aspiring playwright and director to supplement my studies with regular outings to the plethora of productions staged across the city. I support myself financially by working as a Captain at Casa Loma's Blue Blood Steakhouse, which is also a short walk from my residence. This is a system that has brought me balance and stability for the duration of my studies, and will continue to do so for this final semester and into the rest of my life.
The current situation I have established for myself is conducive to earnest, dedicated study because I am able to focus on my courses during the day and to focus on work in the evening. Queen's distance education program has made this situation possible for me until now; I am confident that should the Associate Dean permit me to take 15.0 units from Athabasca University in the Fall, it will be possible for me to complete my studies in this manner.
