Academic Plan
I have met with Haley Everson and reviewed my academic transcript. Ms. Everson was very helpful in creating a path forward. My primary goal is to complete a BA. I am a teacher with a Dip. Ed. When I complete my BA, my Dip. Ed will become a B. Ed, allowing me to expand my professional opportunities.
My return to studies must be incremental. Firstly, I will need to strike a balance between my family, my work and my studies. I feel that I should be conservative in my course load in order to establish thresholds. Secondly, I understand that a further initial damper on my academic pace will result from a period of academic probation. Ms. Everson explained that I will have to raise my GPA from 1.22 to 1.6 before the Faculty of Arts and Science would fully embrace my return to studies.
I have accumulated 54 units of the 90 units necessary to achieve my BA. This leaves me 36 units to complete. Furthermore, I have completed 27 units of the 30 needed in a History-General Arts Plan. In these 27 units, I have satisfied the following:
¿¿ Core Courses, 6 units
¿¿ Option Courses A, 18 units at 200-level or above
¿¿ Additional Requirements, 6 units of Canadian History
I only have 3 units of the 6 units needed to satisfy Option Courses B requirements. I will need 3 units of HIST at the 100-200 level. That leaves 33 additional units of electives to finish History-General Arts Plan.
If the timeliness of my appeal process would allow me to resume studies for Fall 2019, I would propose the following schedule (I understand that there may be conditions that I have not considered that would prohibit this proposal):
¿¿ Fall 2019 2 X 3 units 6 units
¿¿ Winter 2020 2 X 3 units 6 units
¿¿ Spring 2020 1 X 3 units 3 units
¿¿ Summer 2020 2 X 3 units 6 units
¿¿ Fall 2020 2 X 3 units 6 units
¿¿ Winter 2021 2 X 3 units 6 units
