Petition Letter
Dear Committee, I am requesting to drop Hist 122, Making of the Modern World that I was registered for in the Fall 2014. I am doing this after consultation with my Disabilities Services counsellor Jeanette Parsons. I sustained a concussion after a bad fall October 21, 2014. Following this I consuted with my doctor as I was having severe headaches and nausea. My doctor advised me to not attend any classes or do any reading or work on the computer for at least two weeks. Following the second week, I began to work again on my courses and continued to experience severe headaches. I returned to my doctor who advised continued reduction in work and to only do what I could manage without causing headaches. I was able to complete the work required in my other four courses with some extensions granted, and have managed a B average in all of them. After meeting with Ms. Parsons on a number of occassions I made the decision to not continue my studies in Hist 122 as the full course load was too much to handle and causing me too much stress. I am enclosing my letters from my doctor and you have my permission to contact Ms. Parsons regarding my file with Disability Services if you require further verification.
