Re: Appeal to Add MUSC-191 after Academic Deadline
Dear Board of Studies,
I am a transfer student from Mohawk College who came to Queens for the first time in September 2019. In discussion with Dr. Burge, the Chair of Undergraduate Studies for the Dan School of Drama and Music, it was decided to give me a transfer credit for MUSC-191 (Theory and Analysis 1). Because of this I was placed directly into MUSC-292 (Theory and Analysis 2).
Over the last 5 weeks I have found MUSC-292 too challenging and the course moves way too fast for me to catch up. I¿¿ve discussed my situation with Dr. Stephanie Lind (the professor of MUSC-292) and Dr. Burge and we have decided that is best to drop MUSC-292 and register in MUSC-191.
Dr. Burge has provided a letter in support of this request and I have already started attending MUSC-191 classes and I am confident that I will do better in the Music program this year.
