Petition Letter
Permission to add ENIN 140
To the Associate Deans (Studies),
I am this letter to ask permission to add the course ENIN 140 ¿¿Design Thinking¿, held online for the winter semester, even though the deadline for Jan. 19th has passed.
Unfortunately, the deadline passed and I had been considering adding this course to be my 5th course for the winter semester. When I tried to add the course (before the deadline) Solus, stated that ¿¿this course is reserved for students in specific programs¿. I was then prompted to be put on a waitlist for when the course opened to all students. I waited until the deadline and such never happened. This left me with only 4 courses this semester, as the other courses I tried to add all had timetable conflicts.
At the end of the day I realize that I should have prepared for this situation. However, I feel that if this course is taught online, adding a student who is keen on the learning material will not be detrimental to the course or a burden to the Professor/TA¿¿s to mark an extra assignment.
As for an academic plan, being that this course is taught entirely online, I feel that I can catch up on the course material efficiently. Having this 5th course would allow me to have credits that I need to move forward in my degree.
I have contacted Professor Matrix, and she is willing to support my appeal. I will include a photo of her email in documents. If the email is not enough to show her support. I can request that another, more detailed one be sent.
I am happy to answer any further questions you may have if any are posed. Thank you very much for taking the time to review my request.
Sincerely,
Matthew Simpson
