Petition Letter
Dear Associate Dean,
Before I began a new step in my career, I believe I registered for two classes in Arts and Science Undergraduate online, which I had intentions to complete to forward my BAH. However, a family financial matter came up at this already eventful time in my life and I tried to drop these two courses before the financial deadline but could not. Since these courses were never paid for, I was confused about whether or not I was still enrolled.
I received a notification regarding one of these courses recently, and am appealing to drop both on account of the fact that I have not interacted with the materials at all this semester (I am not even aware of who my instructors are) as I thought I was no longer enrolled for financial reasons. I understand the error in thinking on my part, and that the last date to drop the class was some days ago on February 28. I can take a financial penalty - what I really cannot afford is an academic penalty.
Please keep in mind that my circumstances occurred while I was in a different time zone, which added to my confusion about enrollment in these courses or lack thereof.
Thank you for your understanding, time, and consideration. I look forward to getting this matter resolved and resuming progress on my BAH in the summer semester.
Best,
Myisha Siddiqui
