Petition Letter
Dear Associate Dean:
Greetings,
I am Yiwei (Eugenia) Zhang and I am appealing to Drop GNDS 120 and CISC 121 (both in Fall, 2019).
I am suffering from Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), Gender Dysphoria (GD), and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) for two years. BPD and GD make me live under the shadow of heavy anxiety and heavy depression every single day. The ideas like You cannot truly be a girl, You are and will always be alone and so on make me have to pay great effort to just start working under their influence and they even managed to made me attempted to suicide last September. Regardless that there are many Chinese students in our university saying that I am disgusting because I am a trans female and I am not a Chinese nationalism. I am trying really hard to make my own life continue all these time along.
I actually booked appointments with doctors in SWS at the beginning of last term. However, it took a lot of time on waiting and I can finally get all medications I need by the end of November. I did not expect that it took so long to have all these medications. So, I missed the last day of dropping classes.
I choose to drop GNDS 120 and CISC 121 because I did not manage to pass them and they are not critical to my Philosophy major.
In next academic year I will enrol in fewer classes. I hope that anti-depression and anti-anxiety medications will make me better than how I am now. Also, I am currently trying all the ways to communicate with my parents and get their support on curing mental health issue and continue transferring to physical female.
