Petition Letter
To who it may concern,
Due to the late rollout of marks from the Winter 2020 semester, I was late to calculate my final LISC GPA which is 1.82, 0.08 points lower than the 1.9 LISC GPA required to graduate. I have all my required courses completed, but my GPA is too low to graduate in Spring of 2020. At this time (Tue, May 19th), my GPA has still not been calculated officially, but I have used the provided GPA calculator as a prediction.
I talked to Katherine Rudder (LISC Advisor) who told me it would be ideal to take another course that could count under the LIST A course for LISC. For this reason, I am asking to be granted late acceptance to the two BMED courses, 370 and 270.
I reached out to Dr. Duan (BMED 370 Prof) and Dr. Ouellette-Kuntz (BMED 270 Prof) to inform them that I would be interested in taking part in their courses. I have not heard back from Dr Duan yet, but Dr. Ouellette-Kuntz said that she would be happy to have me in her course. Both these courses have over 100 seats available and I have the correct pre-requisites. I have taken one 3.0 unit BMED course which is outside of ArtSci, but I believe I am permitted to take a total of 9.0 units. Both BMED 270 and 370 are 3.0 unit courses and would fall under my requirements.
Succeeding in summer courses would allow me to graduate in the Fall and would allow me to start searching for employment in my field come the winter when offices would potentially reopen after quarantine. There are no other courses running later in the summer that would fall under the LIST A category that I require to graduate.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
