Petition Letter
Dear Whom It May Concern:
My name is Judy Zhu, and my student number is 20073554. I accidentally enrolled in a course, and I am trying to drop it without the financial penalty.
When I tried to enroll in ENIN140 two weeks ago, SOLUS had shown I was in NO.70 on the waitlist. I thought it is impossible for me to enroll in this course, so I have enrolled in two other courses as alternatives. I forgot to drop the ENIN 140 since I thought it is impossible to get out of the waitlist with a NO.70.
However, I had suddenly found that the ENIN140 unexpectedly appeared on my OnQ on July 9th, one week after my classes started. It means I successfully enroll in ENIN140 from the waitlist, and the dropping deadline without the financial penalty just passed on the 8th. I cannot take three courses within one month. This is a short semester, taking two courses is already a challenge for me. And I don't want to drop the other two courses since I have already studied them for one week. My family is facing financial difficulties due to COVID19, I cannot afford to lose thousands of dollars.
I sent an email to the Arts and Science department immediately at 9th to ask if they can help me drop ENIN140 without the financial penalty. I just received their response today that I have to submit an appeal. It is why I just submit the appeal today. I wonder if it is possible to drop ENIN140 without the financial penalty I would very much appreciate your help.
Sincerely,
Judy Zhu
