Petition Letter
To whom it may concern,
My name is Danica Wall, and I am appealing to drop the CHEM313 course without academic penalty after the deadline. On October 31st, I experienced a traumatic event that has caused me to suffer from severe physical and mental distress. Due to the sensitive nature of this traumatic event, I do not feel comfortable disclosing personal details at this time. This event has significantly impacted my ability to complete a full academic workload. I have been slowly becoming able to participate in course work but because I have already missed classes due to my extenuating circumstance, I will be unable to catch up in all my courses. That being said, in an effort to reasonably continue my studies, I am requesting to drop CHEM313. This course is not a requirement for my degree, and without it, I feel confident in my ability to properly complete the rest of my Fall courses.
I have previously submitted an Academic Consideration form for the extenuating circumstance starting on November 2nd. The documentation provided was issued by the personal counsellor I have been seeing with Student Wellness Services: Christina Ruggiero. In addition, I have been regularly seeing my family doctor for continuous treatment. If any further documentation is needed, please do not hesitate to contact me so that I can provide any additional documentation that would be required for a successful appeal, such as a doctor's note or note from my counsellor. I thank you in advance for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Danica Wall
