Petition Letter
Hello,
I am appealing today to ask to reconsider the grading of my ENIN 140 assignment 1. This assignment was accidentally uploaded wrong due my lack of technological knowledge concerning the submission platform as I am a first year student. As soon as I realized that I had uploaded it wrong I emailed my professor and asked her to reconsider grading my assignment. I had finished it on time and to completion, the only problem was that I had uploaded it incorrectly. This was my first assignment with this professor and it had been my first powerpoint assignment of my secondary school career. Furthermore, in the document I had uploaded, it could be seen that I had the full assignment done on the left side; however, unfortunately, only the title page was accessible. In light of these unprecedented times, I am disappointed in the lack of understanding and empathy my professor showed me. I had worked on the assignment weeks in advance, handed it in before the grace period, and I truly believe it reflected some of my best work. I followed up with her several times as my grades are very important to me, including one time to clarify whether she had accessed the submission as I had yet to see my mark. After receiving a grade of zero I brought it to her attention again and she refused to reconsider despite the time stamps I provided as evidence I had the full assignment completed on time and in proper format.
As technology failure is listed as an extenuating circumstance, I would appreciate an appeal of this issue and a regrading of my assignment. I would ask you to please consider my appeal as I do feel my professor did not show me any leniency for something that was truly out of my control.
Thank you again for your consideration.
Kind regards,
Megan Hurley.
