Petition Letter
I have had a lot of problems during the fall semester. I did not understand the level of difficulty with my mental health that I was having until it was too late.
I stopped attending classes in late October and tried to restructure due dates. By early November, my parents were concerned about my mood / behaviour. When I spoke to them, they decided to come and see me in Kingston. I went back with them to Owen Sound and I was admitted to the hospital on November 6th. I was diagnosed with a psychotic break.
I continue to take anti-psychotic medications under the care of a psychiatrist, while living at home with my parents. It is my hope to return to school for part time studies online while my brain heals.
The break in my studies and outlay for incomplete courses is a financial hardship for me. I am hopeful that Queens would be kind to me and allow the reimbursements for my fall courses.
