Petition Letter
January 27th, 2021
To the Associate Deans (Studies):
I am appealing my final grade of 84.4 in HLTH 315 F20. Specifically, the grade that I received for Part A of the final assignment.
The final assignment was in 2 parts: Part A case study (15) and Part B program based on case study (40). I had worked diligently on both assignments. Part A laid the foundation of demographic information and rationale that I used in Part B. I had received a B+ on Part A (the case study) and an A on part B (the program). I believe that the B+ is not representative of the work that I have done.
With regards to the Part A assignment in particular, I had emailed my TA about the faulty recorded tutorial link explaining the assignment of Part A. He said he would look into this issue, but a new link was never provided. Throughout the semester, he typically took 4 or more days to respond to emails, even after the assignment deadlines had already passed.
I have been attempting to contact my TA since the marks were starting to be released on OnQ. After no response, I emailed the course email and Dr. Latimer-Cheung¿¿s personal email regarding my concern, at this time the final mark was up on Solus, and have only received a single email reply in the month of January. Dr. Latimer-Cheung said that she only rounded up marks of 0.50 or above to the nearest whole mark and did not address my concerns with the B+ mark for Part A of the final assignment.
I wish to appeal the mark in this course because I feel that I am deserving of a final mark of an A.
