Petition Letter
Hello,
Im sorry if I have categorized my appeal wrong, as I feel my situation is rather unique. I was enrolled in these 2 courses in the year 2019 (Devs/Drama), during the first semester I was experiencing tough personal issues (as I'm sure many students do), causing me to have failing grades. I do not dispute the failing of the first semester, however, my TA from Devs and prof from drama informed me that i would not be able to pass the course so i should not attend the following winter semester.
I thought everything was finished and it would result in a failing grade, which although I'm not proud of it, was acceptable.
Unfortunately, there was miscommunication causing them to charge me for the second part of the semester, even though i did not attend and was instructed not to come. A failing grade is fine, but having me pay for a full other semester that i wasn't allowed to even attend seems extremely unreasonable.
This, I understand is not the departments fault, and I've been in contact with the tuition appeal department who directed me here saying they are able to help me if I can get the second semester failing grade dropped.
Im not asking for a credit, Im not asking for the full course to be removed, Im only asking for the second part of that term can be dropped. I didnt use any resources and did not attend any classes.
I really hope you can help me through these troubling times.
