Petition Letter
Dear Associate Dean (Academic),
Please accept this letter as my formal request to drop Social Detriments of Health, HLTH 101 Fall term 2020.
As this is my first year at Queen's, I am excited to try many different courses, and one of them was The Social Detriments of Health. Unfortunately, I was placed on a wait list.
An email, that I received on September 17th, stated that if I did nothing, I would remain on the waitlist. Maybe I read this line incorrectly...You will remain on the wait list for the main campus version of the course if you are not able to attend or interested in the BISC option.
I also received an email on September 20th, which I ignored, still assuming by doing nothing after the September 17th email, I was not actively put into the course. I did not realize these were 2 separate courses.
I did not receive any correspondence from the course throughout the 2020 fall term, and didn't realize there was an issue until I checked my fall 2020 marks at the end of the term and saw that I must have been registered for HLTH 101, as I had received an F. Clearly I had failed, because I didn't once even look at anything to do with the course, again assuming I was not enrolled.
I am now fully aware of how important it is to not assume and clearly read my emails moving forward.
Thank you, in advance, for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Joey Stimac
