Petition Letter

Dear Dr. Jenn Stephenson
I am appealing to drop a course after the last official date for dropping classes (March 5,2021)
(Appeal on Matters Related of Section Academic Integrity 3.1.25.ii). The class I wish to drop is
CICS 121; Intro to Computing Science 1. It is a course of interest but not required for my Bio-Chemistry major.
I have been under the care of Dr. Gazzelone from Hotel Dieu;(Dr.Yang¿¿s intern), for my ADHD . There has been a lapse in my biweekly follow up due to Dr. Gazzelone¿¿s commitments. Consequently the medications I was given in the past month were not working and my focus has failed. I was not able to keep up with my workload and did not realize the deadline passed to drop courses. I had to keep focus on my core classes in biochemistry.
I hope you understand my ongoing issues and will let me drop CISC 121 without academic penalty. If you look at my transcripts from the summer of 2020 I received an ¿¿A¿ on a similar coding course. I have fallen too far behind to write exams on this course or complete outstanding assignments and need to concentrate on my major.
I have been put on stronger medication going into my exams for Biochemistry hoping the medication balance is better. Medical note will follow.
My family and I have been in touch with the head of Biochemistry, Dr. Allingham, going forward.
Respectfully,
