Petition Letter
In October of 2020 I suffered a concussion. I struggled to continue with my course load but inevitably had to drop courses as documented by my fall semester appeal which will be attached for reference. In January, with consistent signs of improvement, I cautiously proceeded with a reduced course load that was supported by my health care professionals.
In the first few weeks of my winter semester, my symptoms began to worsen and I quickly realized that my plan was no longer feasible. The courses I was taking: STAT 263, MICR 270, BCHM 218 were dropped before the course drop deadline.
As I was closely following all of my Doctors advice I continued to work through the content of ANAT 380 in hopes my recovery would continue to improve. I worked closely with the professors and teaching assistant to create accommodations for my condition. However, by March, my symptoms continued to worsen despite my best efforts to treat the injury with a team of health care professionals. My current symptoms include headaches, nausea, dizziness, eyestrain, fatigue, neck and back pain, difficulty with focus, memory and higher level cognitive thought. These symptoms have impacted my ability to complete basic everyday tasks and has prevented me from completing the course as planned.
At this point I would like to ask for an appeal to drop ANAT 380 due to my current health circumstances. This course was documented as incomplete in the fall semester term, therefore I would like to appeal it in the winter semester.
