Petition Letter
Dear Associate Dean,
Due to Covid-19 and its implications on the healthcare system, as well as new presenting symptoms of my disabilities (which I have accommodations for) I was unable to perform this school year reflective of my understanding and academic abilities. While accommodations were helpful in navigating unexpected flare ups, I was still unable to complete the course work even slightly close to my abilities and would like my transcript to be reflective of that. During these past two semesters I had days where I was unable to move at all, and in enough pain that I couldn't think properly. I'm actively trying to figure out what my options are in terms of solving my issues both with doctors and with advisors, but it has been incredibly difficult while having these grades. I've reached out to academic advising and they suggested I apply for this. This would really help me in reaching my career goals and applying for Master's. My disability has already taken up so much of my time and enjoyment of life, I don't want it to negatively affect my academic career even more than it already has, especially considering it was so unexpected and out of my control.
Please let me know if you need any more information and I'd be happy to get that for you.
Kind regards,
Katie
