Petition Letter
Hello,
I am writing this letter to you in hopes of appealing the course PHYS 118 due to many circumstances that negatively affected me during this year. First I was under a lot of stress due to many miscommunications with the geology department that resulted in me having to start and catch up in a 6 week course that was already 2 weeks through. This along with another one of my courses having unreleased due dates until a week before the assignment was due and a lack of structure put a lot of extra stress that negatively impacted my mental health. By far the thing that affected my mental health the most though was the unfortunate passing of my grandmother who i was very close to. This left a serious and negative impact on me that without a doubt affected my academic work. This along with all the miscommunication that came with being the first people to ever have to endure online classes had a serious contribution to my declining mental health. I hope that you are able to understand these circumstances. I normally would never do this but i feel strongly that these reasons were the main factor to me failing the course. I tried to keep doing my best due to these circumstances happening after the date where i could drop the course but me sticking with it was a mistake. I would like you to review this appeal and i thank you for the consideration.
