Petition Letter
To whomever it might concern,
My name is Zarra Violet Oliva. I just transferred from the University of Toronto to complete third and fourth year at Queens University in the English program. When I initially applied, I was told that my first year English credit did not transfer to Queens curriculum, and to make up for this, I had to take ENGL 100 this summer before the fall term (to qualify for third year courses).
Because of my own misinterpretation, I assumed I would be contacted again once the summer program began, but I was not. Because of my misunderstanding, I waited until now to inquire about the summer term, as I wasn't sure if someone was going to reach out.
Admittedly, I did not realize until today I had to go onto Solus and add the english course for this summer to my enrolment cart a few weeks ago, and I also wasn't aware that the summer program started two weeks ago
I am reaching out because, although it is late, I'm not sure what to do if I don't get into the ENGL 100 program this summer
Being a new student, I wasn't sure how the processes worked and wrongly assumed I would be enrolled automatically by administration after they emailed me about the needed summer credit. As well, I recently got in a bad accident that resulted in a severe concussion. Although I have been cleared to get back to work, I have only recently re-reached my full capacity. Because of this, I was unable to do adequate research in course enrolment processes a few weeks ago. Due to the effects of my concussion, combined with my misinterpretation of the email about needing to take the summer course, I find myself in this position.
I apologize for the incovenice I have created by mistakingly placing myself in this situation, and would greatly appreciate an opportunity to enrol in ENGL 100 for the summer term and correct it
Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you soon,
Zarra Violet Oliva
