Academic Appeal Letter
Dear Associate Deans,
I am appealing to drop ARTH293 (Winter, 2021), ARTH215 (Winter, 2021) and ARTH248 (Winter, 2021) due to an acute physical illness.
I took my fall term off in order to cope with the overwhelming anxiety this uncertain disease had caused. On December 2nd, 2020, I had my surgery done which required a healing process of two to three months. During this time period, I was having difficulty completing school tasks with limited mobility. I didn¿¿t drop my courses earlier because I underestimated the longevity of the recovery and the severity of discomfort my incision would cause. Since I lived alone away from home, it was much more time-consuming and inconvenient to take care of myself than I imagined. Eventually, I realized it was impossible for me to focus on studying before I was fully recovered.
I have an appointment for a physical examination in August when I would get to know if there is any further procedure. I would definitely communicate with my doctor and register for Academic Accommodation with QSAS if needed.
Thank you for your time reading this letter.
Sincerely,
Wanyi Pei (20030345)
