Academic Plan
I intend to even more use of the provided resources (SWS, seminars on managing mental health, to name a few), as well as continue my sessions with my personal therapist. These, in my opinion, will allow me to continue to develop a more positive thought process and help me control my anxieties and anxious behaviour. It will also help me learn healthier coping mechanisms and be more present mentally. I have joined clubs on campus that allow me to socialise more and have had a positive impact on my mental health by integrating me with my peers, who have been very supportive of me in this tough time, even across the world. I am exploring changing my major (for which I am currently shadowing the course requirements) and taking lighter course loads across multiple semesters to reach my end goal and graduate, and I intend to explore this with academic advisors so that I can play to my strengths and make changes to my current situation. I have already been searching through the course plans for other programs, and intend to formalise the change after I have a better idea of what courses I can take in the upcoming semester. I also intend to continue to meet with an OT when I am back on campus so that I continue to get support and guidance (in the form of resources) toward working consistently. I will hold myself accountable for missing classes (which is what happens often as an effect of the depression) and am taking medication to calm my nerves and help me sleep. I have also employed yoga and meditation to better my focus, and taken classes over the summer to build healthier and sustainable habits of physical wellness (eating and working out right)
