Academic Plan
As outlined in my appeal letter, I understand that I do not have the ability right now to take a full course load. I, however, with much help from medical professionals, now understand why I struggled so much in the past and what steps I need to take in order to succeed in my academics.
I meet with my medical professionals weekly to bi-weekly to talk about my symptoms, my present life, and my goals for the future. One of these goals is to succeed in my academics in a way I wasn't able to before due to the circumstances I was facing.
I am on medications to manage my symptoms as well as going to therapy in order to better understand my thought patterns and why they keep hindering my success, especially as a student.
I plan to work fully with academic advisors and build strong relationships with my professors to help me succeed. This, I admit, was a step I should've taken before. I want to work fully with them to be able to make academic plans and schedules that will help me for future classes.
I propose that I take a maximum of two classes per semester in the upcoming year. This will allow me to fully focus on them as well as not overwhelm myself trying to play catch up.
Taking courses that I have already attempted in the past year would be beneficial, as I will still have fresh knowledge from these classes as well as rebuild my confidence that I didn't have in the past year that I could do them to an adequate degree.
I fully believe that with the right support I will able to take these courses and complete them to a degree I haven't been able to before.
Thank you again,
Rachana Peddakotla
