Petition Letter
I have worked full-time in mental health for 20 years and during the pandemic I was redeployed to an isolation centre for those were positive for covid 19 and homeless. In March of 2020, I decided to look at completed my degree at Queen's University and received some help with enrolling. I decided to look at RELS 131 but it was full at the time and I was told I was 8th on the list. The pandemic continued and I returned to my previous position. I assumed I would not get into the course and not once did I log into QNET to check my status, again I assumed I would not get into the course. I also did not know that being on the waitlist would automatically enroll you in the course and fees would be applied. I never completed one assignment, purchased a text book, wrote a test, nor had any contact with the professor of the course. Sadly, this was a huge misunderstanding on my part after having been removed from university studies for several years. I am unfamiliar with the new systems and processes in place. Staff at Queen's were very helpful during the re-enrolling process but life continued and again I had no idea I was enrolled in RELS 131.
I apologize for the misunderstanding and I am hoping to have the course removed from my transcript and also not be billed for the course.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Don Clowater
