Dear Associate Dean,
Please accept this letter of appeal for a late drop HLTH 331 due to medical extenuating circumstances. The medical circumstances impacted my academic performance in the following ways: severe anxiety, insomnia, troubled eating, isolation, irritability, lack of motivation, lack of concentration, and memory complications. This heavily impacted my academic performance causing it too difficult for me to maintain a good academic standing despite my best efforts. With this being said, I believe it would most beneficial to my mental health to drop the CLST205 course before it affects my academics even more and have a CR standing in HLTH331. This is due to the fact that I have already completed the course but did not pass. I did not drop CLST205 before the deadline because I was determined to push through and finish the course during the current summer term, but with much thought I believe it is in my best interest to drop the course at this time;
In the future months, I plan on prioritizing my mental health more so I can balance both my academics and my personal well-being when I resume my classes again in the fall semester. I would greatly appreciate your consideration in this matter and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Emma Mackinnon
