Petition Letter
To Whom It May Concern,
My name is Sarah Kelly, I am a first year nursing student at McMaster University. In the fall 2020 term, I failed to complete my class for social determinants of health (McMaster course code: HTH 2RR3). To make up for this, I wrote a Letter of Permission to McMaster asking to take a similar class at Queens University that would carry into my credits at McMaster, this class being HTH101 at Queens, which started May 10 2021. In the winter semester, McMaster allowed us to rewrite the exam for HTH2RR3 due to a large amount of students who also failed the course. I was informed on Tuesday July 6, 2021 that this test was bell curved, and I had actually pass the class at McMaster, meaning I do not need to be enrolled in HTH101 at Queens University anymore as I have earned the credit at McMaster.
I am writing this appeal to drop out of HTH101 for the Spring 2021 semester, as I do not need to take this class anymore. As of right now,
I am sitting around an A- to A+ grade with only one assignment left in HTH101. I understand I missed the drop deadline that was July 2, 2021, and I am writing this to get approval to drop HTH101 at Queens University.
In order for my credit at McMaster to pass, I must provide proof I have dropped HTH101 at Queens University, or else I will not be able to move onto second year in the fall. I can also provide evidence of earning my credit at McMaster on July 6, 2021 if it is necessary.
Thank you for your assistance and understanding of my situation.
Sincerly,
Sarah Kelly
