Petition Letter
To whom it may concern,
My name is Brooklyn Bastarache 20052507, I am entering my fourth year of sociology. Throughout this term, I continued to experience mental health issues resulting in academic struggles. I had a very excellent term; however, in March, I experience a serve burnout related to my diagnosis and could not complete the final essay in SOCY 388. I collaborated with some of my profs to receive an IN grade to receive more time to complete course work. However, even with the support of student wellness services and QSASS this prof remained difficult and would not grant me more time to complete said work. My supports in QSASS escalated it to their superiors, however, it was explained to me that it ultimately is at the decision of the prof in this scenario. I am asking for this grade to be dropped because I was more than willing to complete the course work, and I feel it was unfair that this prof rejected the plan Becky Haist and I offered even after hearing that their coworkers granted me the time. With this being said, this was my best academic year so far, which is why the prof's decision was disheartening. I have continued to see counseling treatment with Becky Haist and have attached a letter of support for this decision.
