Petition Letter
Hi There,
I have been in contact with the consideration throughout the summer about my plan on appealing for 2 classes I took in the winter. POLS 280 and ARTH 372. I was unable to appeal to these classes on time due to limited access to the internet and cellular data. I wanted to appeal these classes for aggregate standing because near the end of the school year I got COVID and was constantly locked in my room in a house with 6 other guys. On top of this, my girlfriend had been battling cancer all year and was very unwell at the time, and unfortunately passed away on the 26th of April. These circumstances affected my mental health to the point where I was unable to sleep, I was barely eating, and overall I lost interest in my day to day activities. My best friend who knew what I was going through invited me to his farm in murmur Ontario, where I spent time with him to get things off my mind. Over the same, I spoke to the consideration team and they connected me with a counsellor from Queens health services. I wish I had known a counselling service was available earlier on because I would have reached out to them earlier.
Without these circumstances, I believe I would have been able to complete my work and do well in these courses because I had taken a lighter course load so I can do well in them.
Best regards,
Olivier
