Petition Letter
My name is Christopher Eybergen, and Im currently a fifth-year history and philosophy student here at Queens University. I am writing in the hopes of being enrolled late into a HIST 515 thesis course with professor Siljak.
There are two significant reasons that Im applying late. The first is that it took longer than expected to get my proposal ready for the committee in time. I had begun my research at the beginning of the summer, although it took a substantial amount of time to read enough material and then decided what I wanted to focus on. It also took time to come up with a draft professor Siljak and I could agree on. The second reason is that I was unaware of the deadline for when the proposal was due, so I didnt prioritize it. As a result, only three days ago, Professor Siljak and I found out it was late.
This class means a lot to me. Not only have I invested a substantial amount of time into this project, but Im hoping to use it as a stepping stone to get into my masters. This class is the entire reason Ive decided to come back for the fifth year and continue taking classes here at Queens.
