Petition Letter
Good morning,
I apologize for the delay in reaching out with my appeal. I had completed one earlier this month (October 5th) and did not realize I had chosen the incorrect option.
I have struggled significantly in my personal and academic life since the pandemic started. The transition to online during my fourth year was challenging and my academics suffered as a result. Further, I began the process for an assessment for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in the Fall 2020 Semester and received my diagnosis during the Winter 2021 Semester. I immediately began trialling medications following my diagnosis which came with its' array of difficulties. Although I am undergoing treatment, I still struggle because every area of my life is affected. I decided to move back home because my mental health was rapidly declining, however, this proved to be another obstacle. I am still in the process of collecting the pieces and putting my life back together.
Fortunately, my professors have been extremely supportive and understanding of my circumstances. I plan to finish my remaining coursework in the upcoming weeks because I plan to graduate this Winter or Spring.
