Petition Letter
I am writing this letter to appeal my 2 virtual classes (Astronomy- ASTR101 & Film- 214F21) I was hesitant when choosing my courses about online learning but felt there were no other courses that would fit my schedule to complete it. I have been a great student my entire life until covid when we had to learn from home. My last year of high school really brought me down having to learn virtually and I just never felt accomplished with my final year leaving high school. I was happy to start a new chapter of my life & education with in-person learning at Queens. I did attempt to do these virtual classes but it wasn't possible with the mental conditions I have been severely struggling with. I have reached out to QSAS about this and my need for only in-person learning. I want to do my best while at Queens and don??t want to give up because of these 2 virtual classes. I am finding my classes and teachers very helpful and supportive in all my in-person studies and am doing very well considering I am still dealing with some mental issues. I am also currently reaching out to an academic advisor to advise me on my future course selections so I can avoid all virtual classes down the road but still obtain all my required credits for my degree. I realize the deadline has passed but with my current circumstances, I hope there can be an exception to still drop these without academic penalty.
Thank you,
