Petition Letter
To whom it may concern,
My name is Sydney and I am a fourth-year psychology major, film minor student. I am writing this appeal letter in hopes of adding a course (CHEE 302) after the add deadline. I have decided that I will be taking a fifth year and in doing so, I reached out to the Arts and Science office regarding adding an ENIN certificate. I added it to my degree plan, however there is a course that I need to take over the summer (that is typically offered only in the summer) in order to get this certificate. The issue with this course (ENIN 400) is that I was not able to get into the pre-requisites last semester, meaning that I would need them waived so I could complete the course this summer. I was directed to reach out to the professors of the course (ENIN400) and they responded to me regarding an option in which I could take CHEE 302 in order to satisfy some of the pre-requisites, better preparing me for ENIN400. Unfortunately, they responded with the solution one day after I could add courses (Saturday January 22nd, 2022). In reaching out to the arts and science office, I found out about this appeal process. I have met with both professors (Monday, January 24th, 2022), James McLellan (james.mclellan@queensu.ca) and Greg Bavington (bavingtg@queensu.ca), and they are on board with having me joining their class.
In short, I would like to be added to this class as it has been recommended for me to take (unfortunately 24 hours too late) and will help me be one step closer to receiving my certificate.
Thank you for your consideration,
Sydney Grant,
