Petition Letter

To whom it may concern,
I am writing to request enrolment in the RELS162 course past the enrolment deadline. Primarily, this is because I am in need of an extra course, as I am lacking first year units. I had originally planned to enroll in an alternative course, however I am still waitlisted and don??t believe I will have a spot. Additionally, I have already taken the RELS162 course in the first semester which I did not complete successfully and would like to reattempt.
The reason which I primarily failed this course was because I was dealing with a lot of mental health issues back in September, which I??d rather not discuss. Adjusting to university took me a long time, which I hope is normal in first year. Above all, I was distracted from focusing on school which took a toll on my grades. After reevaluating my priorities, I have grown a deeper commitment to my academics and am focused on achieving a solid GPA by the end of this semester. More importantly, I??ve been able to get a grasp on my mental health which has made a positive impact on other aspects of my life - school being one of them.
I am familiar with the content and workload of this course and have no doubt that it will be an issue for me to catch up on. I also understand that this will mean I have 6 courses this semester, which I am also confident that I can handle.
Thank you very much in advance for considering my appeal, I hope that you can understand my position.
Sincerely,
Ava Clark
