Dear Associate Dean,
Request: Appealing to drop a course after the drop deadline
Since February 2022, I have been dealing with some relationship issues which have made my living situation rather difficult, and currently, I am staying on a friend's couch. I have been mentally overwhelmed and accept that I have fallen behind in my coursework. Unfortunately, I think it's too late, and I won't be able to salvage the damage done with CANC 380, and the grade I would earn would bring my GPA down. It took me this long to decide to drop the course because I had hoped that I could pull myself together and salvage the situation. But unfortunately, I have not been well mentally and believe I might need some professional help for my mental health. I would appreciate it if I could drop the course before the final exams and focus on other subjects I haven't fallen behind. I plan to take a break over the summer and get better to return to studies for Fall 2022 to take my pending credit courses.
