Dear sir/madam,
My name is Dan Hammond, I am a third-year economics student. I am filing an appeal to request Aegrotat standing in three of my courses for the winter term in 2022 (CLST 201, ECON 320, ECON 351). Whilst, asking for two of my courses finals to be deferred (CLST 103, DEVS 353).
I am requesting Aegrotat standing due to an injury I suffered at the end of March. I went to Hotel Dieu Hospital on March 29th, 2022, where I was told I have fractured my dominant right hand and needed to be in a cast for up to 6 weeks. This means that the cast will not be off until all of my exam dates have passed ( May 10th, 2022).
This injury has affected my ability to type and prevents me from being able to write at all. Due to this, I haven??t been able to write notes, study, or complete individual assignments/ tests. However, I have attempted to do what I can with the limited mobility I have but this only involves typing with one hand.
So far, I??ve requested academic consideration for which I have not received a reply. I have reached out to all of my instructors, who are unable to help with my situation until my considerations have been approved. Finally, I have reached out to Owen Lem, the queen's rector. As well as, reaching out to the Associate Dean, Jenn Stephenson, who suggested it would be a good idea for me to request Aegrotat standing.
Thank you, I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Dan Hammond
