Petition Letter
Dear Appeal Office,
I am writing to request a CR standing for PPEC 200 taken in the 2020 fall because there were extenuating circumstances beyond my control causing the grade I received (D+) to fail to reflect my real learning abilities. I have this letter and medical documentation from a registered psychotherapist to prove that I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety in 2019 and I have been taking medications until now (Quetiapine Fumarate Tablets, Aripiprazole tablets, Lorazepam Tablets, Behexazole hydrochloride tablets and Sertraline Hydrochloride Dispersible Tablets. With the negative effects of my mental illness, it was extremely difficult for me to focus on my studies for PPES 200. Moreover, I was in rural China during the 2020 fall taking care of my ill grandparents who suffered from hypertension. Although I made my best efforts to focus on my studies, the VPN was not working in rural China so I had no access to almost all portions of lectures and meetings because they cannot be downloaded. In sum, my difficulties to focus on academics due to mental illness and my lack of access to course contents are the two major reasons that my real learning abilities are not justified in the grade I received therefore I deserve a credit standing for this course.
I am also registered with the student wellness center and I provide the letter from a doctor I met in 2020 to better complement my appeal. I am also registered with Queen's academic success services to get assistance for my future studies. I will work hard in my pursuit of BAH majoring in ECON graduating in the 2023 spring so this CR standing is extremely important for the grades on my transcript as I am also applying for a master's. Thank you for your time. I am looking forward to hearing back from you.
