Academic Plan
I intend to make substantial efforts to improve my academic standing:
I will commit to seeing a therapist or psychiatrist frequently and consistently. In the past, I have worked with therapists but I have not seen one since the summer of 2021.
I will take advantage of the support systems and resources Queen's offers, attend SASS workshops, as well as apply for the Peer Mentor Program.
I will make an effort to reach out to a therapist or to the school if I am struggling, instead of waiting until it is too late.
I will designate a space and time every day to work and work on a weekly schedule, as opposed to when I think I can work. When I was staying in residence, I could not focus enough to work in my room and, because of the mask mandate, I found it very distracting to study in public spaces (I wear glasses and they get very foggy with masks, especially during the winter)
I will bring my support animal to Kingston to stay with me during the school year.
I will initiate or join a study group in classes I anticipate struggling with.
This year has served as a wake-up call and I now realize I need to work with my disability instead of against it.
