Academic Plan
To ensure I can achieve academic success, I have planned academic and personal changes. I am going to continue my weekly meetings with my psychologist, and we are exploring the necessities of introducing medication to help me with my mental health. This upcoming term (Fall 2022) I will be taking a lighter course load (three classes), decreasing the number of hours I will be working at my part-time job, and making a conscious effort to ask for help and clarification from my instructors and classmates. I will only increase my course load once I am certain that I will be able to succeed in all of them, and if I choose to increase, it will not exceed four courses per term. In order to maintain this more balanced schedule, I am planning to be back at Queen's University for a fifth year. When I achieve a GPA higher than 1.9, I will change my major to Biotechnology, as I have planned since my admission to Queen's University. I will make sure to have a schedule where I have enough time to dedicate to my studies and set time for my well being (going on walks, exercising, or a coffee with friends). I will schedule an appointment with Student Academic Success Services, so I can become a more efficient and confident student and explore ways to improve as a student. If my mental health goes south again, I will make sure to not shut down but instead ask for the appropriate help.
