Academic Plan
I am making an Academic Plan so I can make sure I become successful in future endeavors in university. I am currently registered in the Concurrent Education program and if I continue in this program then I will be planning to teach in IS (Intermediate Senior), and having my teachables as History and Indigenous Studies. This means I will have to take the correct amount courses in each school semester that correspond with those subjects. I do realize that I will possibly have to retake some courses to succeed in that plan. Those extra courses being in the summer or taking place in an extra year in school. Whatever the case may be I am prepared in each circumstance. The reasons to why I got to where I am with my unsuccessful my first year is because of the unforeseen extenuating circumstances. Those circumstances being my mental health being bad and overwhelming for me to the point of me not being able to do and keep up with schoolwork. I have addressed these challenges by reaching out to QSAS and being put into their system now. Being an Indigenous student, I also reached out to the 4D Indigenous Centre, and got help from an advisor there. Which led me to talking to a counselor from late March until May. I feel more supported and confident about myself with my school work because of these supports around me. I will continue to have meetings with these people to help keep me going and stay on track with school. Specifically, they will help me stay organized, gain better studying habits, and to make sure I am always taking care of myself too. I think with these supports in place I can achieve my goals, which are passing my classes with good marks, and graduating with a degree that I earned.
