Dear Faculty of Arts and Science at Queens University,
RE: APPEAL NOTICE AGAINST ABILITY TO DROP SPAN 111 AFTER DEADLINE
Good day, my name is Aribim Pepple and I'm a distance student taking a BA in psychology. The reason for my appeal is extenuating circumstances made it extremely difficult to adhere to the deadlines throughout the course. The Span 111 course is highly interactive with various group assignments such as a group presentation and various conversation activities that require zoom calls with fellow classmates. During the first 3 weeks of the course I resided in Calgary Alberta, so arranging good meeting times with classmates was not an issue, but due to my professional soccer career, I had to move to England with short notice at the beginning of July. And because most of my classmates resided in Canada, the time difference, coupled with my tight schedule (due to my soccer career), made it extremely difficult to meet with my classmates and attend the various zoom calls needed to complete my group assignments. As a result, my grades suffered a significant drop to the point where I would no longer be able to pass the course. Considering this class is an elective and not a core subject I politely request permission to drop the course without and prevent significant damage to my GPA.
Thank you for taking the time to consider my appeal and I look forward to hearing your response.
Yours sincerely,
Aribim Pepple
