Respected Committee Members,
I am appealing for an Aegrotat (AG) standing in the following courses: DEVS100 Fall/Winter 2021-2022 and POLS110 Fall/Winter 2021-2022.
I have long-standing mental health and physical health struggles which were exacerbated since my mother??s terminal brain cancer diagnosis last year. Although, I have consistently sought healthcare and counselling support from Student Wellness Services and Hotel Dieu Hospital and fought hard to keep going with my studies and complete the Fall/Winter 2021-2022 courses, I have a legacy of childhood trauma, mood and anxiety concerns, gastrointestinal and cardiac troubles, the effects of which have much worsened since the beginning of this year. This was because my mother??s condition has further worsened this year, and I am severely overwhelmed with trying to cope. It is causing me extreme stress, fear, grief, and concern for my family. All these debilitating circumstances have also further aggravated my chronic mental and physical health struggles. I was even admitted to the Kingston General Hospital for three days due to serious complications. The combination of these circumstances has made it such that I am unable to complete the remaining work for the two courses POLS110 and DEVS100.
My healthcare team and counsellor have advised me to take some time to focus on rebuilding my health and wellbeing this Fall. Accordingly, I discussed my situation with the respective instructors for the two courses, and they have indicated their overwhelming support to my appeal for an Aegrotat (AG) standing in their courses. Hence, I decided to submit an appeal for an Aegrotat (AG) standing in both DEVS100 Fall/Winter 2021-2022 and POLS110 Fall/Winter 2021-2022.
Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
Thank you for your consideration.
Yours Sincerely,
Indraneel Shinde
