Petition Letter
Greetings,
I was previously given a requirement to withdraw for one year in 2021 due to my poor academic performances caused by mental health issues, and a year has since passed. As the course selection deadline was coming up, I came to a decision to enrol for the Fall 2022 term yesterday, and made calls to the ArtSci office throughout the day to check for my eligibility to return, fill out the return-to-studies form, and as such. I was reassured many times by different staff members that everything was good to go and I would be able to select courses before the end of the day. I got anxious as the office was closing and the ban still was not lifted, but even in a call half an hour before this, I was told that my completed form was sitting on the desk of the head of office, and it would definitely be processed before the end of the day. I believed the staff without any doubt because I had taken academic breaks before, and when I did return the request was usually processed very quickly, usually within the hour. However, as I tried throughout the afternoon and evening, and even filmed a video of me doing so as proof, the ban was still on my profile and I could not select a single course. I called this morning and was told since the deadline had passed, there is nothing the office can do to let me enrol, even though this clearly happened due to negligence on their part. I ask for your consideration for me to select courses past the deadline, because this was an extenuating circumstance that was out of my control, and I most definitely respected sessional dates on the academic calendar. Thank you for your time and consideration.
