Petition Letter
To whom it may concern,
My name is Ruofeng Peng and I am a third year philosophy major. I am writing to appeal to drop some courses, as well as requesting an aegrotat in a course. I have been dealing with some on-going family problems since late November of 2014. I had to miss an exam due to the death of a family member...
I was only able to attend the first day of class in the winter term, and my family needed me to go home on week days so I had no choice but to miss lectures. I have yet to acquire the course materials, and I have not submitted any assignments. I e-mailed my instructors near reading week, wondering if it was still possible for me to catch up, but all of them answered no. That was when I first began to see Liz Racine at HCDS. She gave me directions on ways to deal with difficult situations similar to mine, and will be kindly providing a letter of support. I am learning to cope with stress and psychological challenges in different ways, and was hoping that I can make a fresh start by leaving what was in the past behind me, and start a new chapter this summer.
I really appreciate your time and support. I look forward to hearing back from you.
Best,
Ryan Peng
