Petition Letter
Dear: Arts and Science Faculty
I am a fifth year student at Queen's who has immensely enjoyed my time at Queen's. I have always enjoyed learning and am passionate about my degree but unfortunately recently I have been struggling with some personal issues which have hindered my ability to perform at the best of my abilities as a student. Over the past few months, I have been struggling with major anxiety surrounding school which has specially impacted GPHY 105. I have not been able to attend the class or put in my best efforts due to the extreme anxiety I have been struggling with which has ultimately led to me not being able to put my best effort out as a student. The class has a participation aspect of it which I have not been able to complete due to the extreme anxiety I have been experiencing to the point I am afraid to open my computer to look at the course content.
I am currently receiving help for my mental health and have agreed with my health care professional team that it would best benefit me to drop GPHY 105 if possible. I will be continuing to receive support from my health care team to ensure that I can over come this barrier and not let it impact me in the future of my academic career.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and as well for your consideration to allow me to drop GPHY 105.
Many thanks,
Alexandra Gorman
