Petition Letter
To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to appeal for a late drop of ECON 222 & ECON 250, and to inform you of some recent challenges that I have been facing, and how they have affected my academic performance. From October 3rd to November 21st, I was dealing with significant psychological challenges related to my mental health. These circumstances made it difficult for me to attend class, focus and concentrate on my work, and write exams and tests.
One of the biggest challenges that I faced during this time was my ability to attend class. Due to the nature of my challenges, I often felt overwhelmed and anxious. This made it difficult for me to leave my house, let alone attend classes. As a result, I missed a number of classes and found myself falling behind in my coursework.
In addition to my ability to attend class, my psychological challenges also affected my ability to focus and concentrate on my work. Even when I was able to attend class, I often found myself struggling to pay attention and retain information. This made it difficult for me to keep up with my coursework and complete assignments to the best of my ability.
Finally, my challenges also affected my ability to write exams and tests. During this time, I found myself feeling anxious and stressed, which made it difficult for me to focus and think clearly. As a result, I found myself struggling to perform as well as I normally would on exams and tests.
In order to deal with these challenges, I took a number of steps. First and foremost, I spoke to my pastor for guidance and support. This helped me to gain some perspective and find some peace of mind during this difficult time. Additionally, I reached out to Student Wellness Services at Queens University. They provided me with the resources and support that I needed in order to manage my mental health and focus on my academic goals.
Overall, my psychological challenges have had a significant impact on my academic performance. However, I am taking steps to manage my mental health and stay on track with my coursework. I am confident that with the support of my pastor and Student Wellness Services, I will be able to overcome these challenges and continue to succeed in my academic pursuits.
Sincerely,
Nathaniel Shaw-Tsoulalas
