Petition Letter
Hello,
Thank you for reading my letter and considering my appeal.
I am appealing for a late course drop. I have social anxiety and severe depression and am registered with QSAS with a full description and documentation of my condition. I was managing these alright until October, when my great uncle passed, this hit me especially hard due to the aforementioned depression.
My depression got quite bad and I lacked the motivation to even get out of bed some days, let alone do my school work. Because of this I was unable to complete the assignments and comment on the discussion forums. when I began feeling better I emailed my professor, Professor Ian Fanning, to tell him what had happened and to say that I would do my best to complete the outstanding assignments. However, he said that it would be unfair to ask the TAs to mark my work and suggested that I submit an appeal for a late course drop instead.
I understand that this is not something that can be granted lightly and would be very appreciative if it were to be granted.
Thanks again for considering my appeal,
Hannah Berube
