Petition Letter
Dear Professor,
I am appealing to add a course after the last official date for adding classes. The course I want to join is ENIN 140. Currently, I am on the 32nd of the waitlist. I failed to enrol earlier because I was trying different classes that I am also interested in.
I want to join this class mainly for 3 reasons. ENIN 140 is solving real-life problems in media and creative industries, which means the task will be cooperation with others. I am interested in being a game developer in the future, so ENIN 140 could provide me with a valid foundation about how to solve a real-life problem, various inspirations about digital design, and up-to-date theories and techniques in the game development industry. So this is the first reason I want to join this class.
Second, ENIN 140 could provide me with cooperation opportunities. Most of my classes are related to math and computer science, indicating that I need to practise and solve problems by myself. Even if I can discuss them with my classmates, my collaborating skill is not developed. As in modern societies, teamwork is crucial. I believe ENIN 140 could train me in this aspect.
Third, a lot of in-person classes can not fit into my schedule. Most of my classes have 3 lectures per week, so my schedule is comparatively fixed. Fitting another course always leads to several time conflicts all the time. Therefore, an online class is the best solution for these time conflicts. An online class has a more flexible schedule and could reduce my stress on time management.
